Hallo, Hallo dear hearts!

I am unsure if you saw my admiration for “A Holiday in Gaslight” in recent months via the twitterverse, but everyone I know in the bookish world had the lovely chance to read this recently and I was caught up in the excitement myself! This was the first time I realised the collective works of this Historical novelist was one I hadn’t had the proper chance to explore or become acquainted with personally – which is why I am hoping to seek out “A Holiday in Gaslight” through my local library this year. I had meant to submit a purchase request in December for the story however, with a five week virus and three migraines afterwards in January, you could say that plan was postponed!

I vaguely remember seeing the blog tour and reviews on behalf of the first novel in this series “The Matrimonial Advertisement” – it was a story which at the time I wanted to seek out a bit more about but as life moved forward, it simply disappeared from my radar until now. This is why I was thankful I saw my bookish friends and fellow book bloggers excitedly discussing “A Holiday in Gaslight” as it brought the focus back to Mimi Matthews and gave me a new curiosity for her series of Historical narratives!

I am delighted today to be a part of the Cover Reveal Team via Historical Fiction Virtual Book Tours – as I love promoting, celebrating and championing works of Historical Fiction (across all sub-genres of interest) with Ms Bruno as she truly has a knack for giving those of us who love time travelling through the historic past a keen edge on modern Historical Fiction. It has been through hosting with her these past five (nearly six years) I’ve become enchanted, delighted and wickedly engaged with History.

Although this appears to be a Digital First release – I am confident a print release will be forthcoming as the rest of Ms Matthews stories are cross-released into other formats. As you might already realise, I can’t read ebooks due to my chronic migraines but I love celebrating new stories, even if they are Digital First releases as the promise of a print copy down the road is what encourages my bookish heart to realise one day, I can discover the stories I wish to be reading today.

Thankfully, two of her previous releases “The Lost Letter” and “The Viscount and the Vicar’s Daughter” are available in audiobook editions via Scribd. As I am a subscriber to Scribd for audiobooks, I’m looking forward to listening to these stories this year.

As you know, I love Feminist Historical Fiction narratives inasmuch as I love adventurous romantic fiction. This particular series seems to combine both of my loves and I can’t wait to start to dig into “A Matrimonial Advertisement” in order to understand what is coming next in today’s spotlighted new release!

If you are a reader of Ms Matthews stories, I’d love to hear your thoughts about this Spring Release but also, what has given you the most joy about reading her collective works!

Without further adieu, here is today’s featured release,…

Hallo dear hearts! I am pleased to be a part of the blog tour hosted directly by Month9Books for a new release of #DiverseLit featuring a cross-cultural romance between an Irish bloke and an Indian lass! I’ve had the pleasure of interacting a bit with the author via Twitter leading up to my tour stop – whilst being caught up in the pre-release excitement of having a new book begin it’s travels within the book world. Always an exciting time for authors & readers alike – what drew me into wanting to host this blog tour is the opportunity to talk to the author about her characters, the story-line itself and to help celebrate an author whose writing an #ownvoices release.

I have always read diversely, ever since I was a young girl, however, a lot has changed in publishing in the last several years – where #WeNeedDiverseBooks has become a movement I’ve been a part of since it’s initial Twitter storm of tweets supporting diversity and equality in literature to where we now can celebrate authors like Ms Patel, who are writing narratives from their own cultural heritage and background whilst being celebrated through the #ownvoices movement as well. Literature is quite an exciting time right now – but what moves me to the most to read stories, are the heart and soul centred stories where we truly get to enter into the lives of the characters through an emotional connective thread which gives us entrance into their lives.

As I read the premise behind Soulmated, I felt the author had a wonderful window into telling a story a lot of us could relate too, and would love to read. The fact that it’s a cross-cultural Romance with the added benefit for being inclusive of the Urban Fantasy arc of elements wherein the supernatural bits are interspersed with the lives of the characters, you feel as if your about to enter into an exciting story which has a fast pace of alighting inside your imagination.

BOOK SYNOPSIS:

Two souls. One Fate.

Eighteen-year-old Liam Whelan, an Irish royal empath, has been searching for his elusive soulmate. The rare union will cement his family’s standing in empath politics and afford the couple legendary powers, while also making them targets of those seeking to oust them.

Laxshmi Kapadia, an Indian-American high school student from a traditional family, faces her mother’s ultimatum: Graduate early and go to medical school, or commit to an arranged marriage.

When Liam moves next door to Laxshmi, he’s immediately and inexplicably drawn to her. In Liam, Laxshmi envisions a future with the freedom to follow her heart.

Liam’s father isn’t convinced Laxshmi is “The One” and Laxshmi’s mother won’t even let her talk to their handsome new neighbor. Will Liam and Laxshmi defy expectations and embrace a shared destiny? Or is the risk of choosing one’s own fate too great a price for the soulmated?

If your a regular reader or frequent visitor of Jorie Loves A Story, you know I’ve been smitten with the novelists who publish their relationship-based Romances with ChocLitUK for a good two years now! I love being on the cusp of learning about a ‘new release’ whilst I remain patient to see if the Digital First new ChocLit novel will make it to a print release further down the road of it’s lifetime. I don’t mind the gaps between the ebooks and the print editions – as it’s always given me the pleasure of balancing my ‘next ChocLit reads’ to include both Front List and Back List offerings. Thus, I am enjoying being a member of the Reveal Team at ChocLit whilst it gives me a chance to introduce my readers to a variety of sub-genres within Romance I appreciate picking up to read!

On my new position as a ChocLit Star member: Whilst I am part of the ChocLit Reviewers having brought reviews & guest author features to Jorie Loves A Story for the past two years, I have recently become a part of the Cover Reveal Team, as disclosed when I hosted the first Reveal on behalf of Sheryl Browne’s ‘Learning to Love’. This new team works with ChocLit providing honest feedback on ‘projects’ such as title & book cover design choices as well projects in development on behalf of the publisher. I accepted being a ChocLit Star as I felt my love of the stories would be a good fit to give in-depth responses to the projects pitched to the Stars. Therefore, this Cover Reveal is the first where my input as a ChocLit Star helped the reveal become possible!Fun Stuff for Your Blog via pureimaginationblog.com

Hallo, Hallo dear hearts!
Guess what time it is? A new ChocLit novel is on the horizon!

I am featuring a *NEW!* book cover I help select via the ChocLit Stars programme, as I had a feeling this was going to be the cover which was selected even though I tipped my hat in favour of another one. The reason I felt the jade cover might win over the other covers is simply because this style of cover art has become the author’s trademark with her ChocLit covers – if you consider that most of her covers feature silhouettes.

I honestly felt this would be the winner even though I opted for another cover initially, as I could sense there was a direction of intent in why this jade cover might have been placed within our queue of choices. I am quite thrilled for Ms Britnell to have this cover, as I remarked the following about it:

I will say, if the jade cover is picked, I would be equally delighted as it’s nearly growing towards being the ‘author’s trademark’ cover and the placement of the cover’s features is keying you into the fact two people randomly met and might have found they connected.
