Book Ardour Posting Challenge For Book Bloggers

BA's Posting Challenge for Book Bloggers

{November 2014 – April 2015}

{Official Blurb of Origins} This is how BA’s Posting Challenge began.

Now BA’s Posting Challenge has become an annual event spanning the year’s busiest time. November for Wrimos everywhere, December for the holiday season, January for New Year’s and recovery, February for the lovers, and March to finally wind down after all the craziness.

BA’s Posting Challenge is for those book bloggers who want content and can’t think of anything to post, want a break without their blog dying, and just want to join in somewhere with the blogosphere community. This  challenge has a focus on books, book blogs, and personal topics scattered throughout.

Original Goals

I came to discover this challenge whilst it was already in-progress, but what I appreciated about the challenge is that its a weekly pre-set prompt to where it allows you to flex your thoughts on rather curious topics and subjects that may OR may not have been featured on otherwise! Aside from the regular memes in the bookish blogosphere that I take part in time to time, this is a writing prompt challenge whereupon there will be NO SKIPPING OVER if I am on the fence to post a reply! This will be a lovely progression of posts that even I cannot wait to see start to flourish! Its my full attempt to become current by 1 December in order to post alongside the rest of the participants! I changed the dates to “weeks” as I could not begin on the designated date of 3rd of November, 2013!

ORIGINAL Plan B Idea

Although, in theory I was meant to begin the BA Posting Challenge in *November!*, I was only able to stitch together half of my first post on 18 November, 2013! I picked up the reins of the challenge by resuming where I had left off on 16 March, 2014! For each week until 29 April, 2014 I scheduled a BA Posting Challenge Question to be answered on four days throughout the week: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday! I had decided to undertake the blog challenge “A to Z Challenge” in which you post a topical essay for each letter of the alphabet, equating out to 26 total posts throughout the month of April; all days feature a ‘letter’ except for Sundays! I felt the best way to achieve my original goals with the BA Posting Challenge would be to combine it into my posting schedule for the A to Z Challenge; thereby giving readers quite a heap to chew on whilst they are visiting Jorie Loves A Story!

NEW Plan B Idea

This November is a month full of redemption and second chances, from my second attempt at Sci Fi November to creating an entire event to spotlight Indie Writers of whom I never had the proper chance to highlight prior to now from Spring – end of Summer 2014. I decided that since this is a month most writers are participating in Nanowrimo, I decided to return back to my love of the idea for the BA Posting Challenge. I truly love book blogging, but I have lost my path a bit for the spontaneous posts in-between the blog tours, book reviews, & author features. I’ll always be a book cheerleader for authors, but I want to add-in the other bits that give me the most joy to share which are a direct reflection of who I am outside the main components that frequently alight on my blog. I want to participate in this event, even if I am in effect a year late. I even contacted Bonnie to see if she could provide me with the four missing questions in order to have a full set. Let’s see how my second chance pans out!

Write on!

Always continue to cultivate your muse even if it’s twelvemonths after you planned to create!

A long overdue update:

I’m more than a bit surprised to have learnt tonight, the list I originally received for this particular challenged was either edited/changed since I initially started working on the essays & finding myself struggling to write content for the prompts. Though in part it was due to the topics themselves and partially it was due to a lack of motivation to find a way to actually respond to the topics – I guess I was in a *funk!* back then, and simply gave up before it began.

I tabled the idea before it even posted into the cosmic sphere of the book blogosphere but I always held out hope I’d resume where I left off and re-attempt the challenge – either in full or in part – which brings me to #blogtober 2018. I’ve decided to participate in this event – curating a new *list!* of topics from Bonnie’s topic list & Jenn’s (@jenniely).

This is the new list of topics I spied on Bonnie’s site 20th September, 2018:

14th of April – Loving Blogging: What do you love about book blogging and book blogs?

21st of April – Book Lies: Have you ever lied about reading a book (if so, what was it)? Would you?

28th of April – Disgruntled Blogging: What are some of the cons you’ve discovered when it comes to blogging?

5th of May – Meet and Greet: Who are some of the authors you have met or would love to meet and why?

19th of May – Other Loves: What else do you love to talk about besides books, on your blog or off it?

26th of May – Nooks: Share a photo of your reading space/nook/area (if not possible then describe it instead). What do you love about it? How did it come to be your reading space? Is it missing anything?

2nd of June – Blog Love: Share some of the other book blogs you love to follow, who have inspired you, or who have become your online besties.

9th of June – Keeping Place: When it comes to keeping place in the book you’re reading, what’s your favourite method and has it changed over the years?

16th of June – Blog Meme Love: Share some of the memes others have created that you enjoy and take part in. What do you enjoy about the ones you’ve chosen to share?

23rd of June – Picture Perfect: Share a photo of your books. Can be your TBR pile, your read pile, favourite books, least favourite books, books to donate, gifts, or your bookcase. What’s going on in the picture and why have you chosen to share these books?

22nd of September – Recommendations: What are your feelings and reactions towards being asked for reading recommendations, especially when it’s from those who either don’t read your prefered genres or you’re not up to speed on what they would love?

29th of September – Movies to Books: It’s quite common for books to be adapted to film, but are there movies you think would have made better books?
