  1. “American television will drag on and on to feed the entertainment engine even once the story has been long ‘finished’ and lost its original luster. Same goes for movies and novels.”

Interesting. I didn’t realize that was an American phenomena. I noticed a month ago that the soap opera my mom used to watch twenty years ago has not changed. The characters behave and look almost exactly the same, as though they were frozen in time. It’s ridiculous. How do viewers stay engaged for twenty years?

I see character addiction as equally intense in literature and TV. Good thing I grew up, or I might still be reading Anne of Green Gables, Baby-sitters Club, and Flowers in the Attic. :)

    • Hallo Heather!

As a note on Anne of Green Gables , I personally am endeared to Anne evermore and its one series that I fondly look forward to re-reading as an adult, as that is one reason I am so thankful I found tCC (The Classics Club), as I get to not only re-explore past favourites but I get to seek out new potential favourite reads! :) I guess I am a girl who has trouble letting go of the characters and memories of her beloved and treasured friends!

We’re all uniquely different though and I understand others might not be as attached as I am! :)
