*SFN | SciFi November – SciFi Month* 2015 Announcement of Events

I decided to leave this archive fully in-tact as it were left during Sci Fi November, 2015. When I took ill in the middle of November, I was unable to complete what I had planned to showcase. I ended up being ill the entire month of December; barely able to function at all and turned to watching Doctor Who via the BBC to have a bit of solace out of the misery. Most of what I wanted to feature in 2015 was moved to 2016 with new features & additions. The Clan Chronicles became my most beloved series and I was very thankful to be blessed to have ‘met’ them during Sci Fi November!

November came along so quickly this year, you could nearly say I was not quite prepared for Sci Fi November as much as I would have preferred! October was the first month I was back blogging since the wrecking lightning storms of Summer; where my connectivity was reliable and my heart was focused on reading books whilst sharing my ruminations of those stories. My backlog was quite impressive, as *none!* of the #SRC2015 challenge reads nor Summer blog tours or non-tour reviews were able to be posted, as I was attempting to become current with everything under the sun all at once. I am not the only book blogger who runs a bit behind the eight-ball every blue moon, but for me, this Sci Fi November meant a chance at redemption.

I’ve had a difficult year (from October 2014 – October 2015) marking an effect on last year’s Sci Fi November as I barely was able to post anything at all. I even left several series a bit undone with either reading one book out of three or two books out of three. This year, you’ll find those series re-highlighted as I dive back into the folds of where I left off with those characters and authors. The year went by in a *blink!* and I did not have a TARDIS on hand to catch-up on the hours I lost.

Despite the rocky bits, I’ve had a beautiful year of stories whose writers have been giving me emotional reads as much as character driven plots where my heart and mind were so attached it was hard to pull back into my own reality due to how strongly illuminated their stories became in my imagination. These are the stories I seek out throughout the year. Keenly hopeful that several if not all of the stories I’ve earmarked to read this Sci Fi November will carry the torch forward in a continuance of readerly joy!

I carefully added a few new series and authors to this year’s festivities, including the second book in the Cobbogoth series where I quite literally am book cheering for Hannah L. Clark to see this series through to it’s seventh book! I had the happenstance blissitude to become a part of #whoaretheclan + #timeandstarstour featuring The Clan Chronicles by Julie E. Czerneda wherein I am reading ALL seven novels by the 11th of November! I’m even re-visiting Doctor Who to make amends for not journalling my original viewings of a series that has stolen my sci fi geeky heart! Whilst finding a few ways of writing blog posts that give a bit of a new impression of who I am as a reader and the ways in which SFF remain a mainstay in my life.

Join me as I adventure through worlds of science and science fiction whilst dipping into a well of sci-fantasy as November graciously gives us all a reason to shout our giddiness for SCIENCE FICTION! Continued gratitude to Rinn @ Rinn Reads for allowing us the pleasure of coming together and spending a month focused on a genre that we all find ourselves passionately happy to see arrive each Autumn!

JLAS Features in Conjunction to SFN:

As per annum since 2013, November marks a beautiful gateway for me to re-open the door to science fiction, as following straight on the heels of Sci Fi November is the Sci Fi Experience! You’ll denote this year during SFN I’m going to create a post about ‘which books’ should I read during SFE as a way to gauge which books my readers and visitors have already come to love themselves or at the very least to look out for books that may not yield to an experience I was hoping to find. It will be a bit of interactive fun as there are a heap of lovelies I’m planning to read during December and January! Be sure to visit Stainless Steel Droppings for details around the end of November/start of December!

    • Hallo, Hallo Rinn!

Thanks for dropping by! I released my first book showcase tonight whilst updating the main archive for the event! I am truly enjoying my readings of The Clan Chronicles – have you experienced them before? I hadn’t realised how long it’s been since I’ve read a traditional science fiction novel, and thus, I am having quite a journey as I seek out Cersi and the Clan(s)!

I, do admit I have quite a bit up my sleeve this year – I am blogging each week and getting set to share quite a heap before December dawns! I love participating in this event and look forward to visiting with everyone taking part in it. It’s a great month for sci-fi geeks, thanks to you! :) Cheers!!

    • Hallo, Hallo Lianne!

Thanks for dropping by my main archive for the events I have scheduled for this year’s Sci Fi November! I’m so excited to start sharing my book reviews and other features – as this week, I truly get to kick-off my November! I fell a bit under the weather last week, so it curbed a few of my plans, however, I look forward to revealling them lateron in the month! This week of course, I’m quite keen on the fact I’m sharing my impressions on behalf of a three trilogy series by Julie E. Czerneda: the Clan Chronicles!

I’ve released my first showcase on this series tonight (on behalf of Reap the Wild Wind) before moving steadily into the next books of the prequel before entering The Trade Pact universe where it all began. Wednesday will be the big reveal where I share my thoughts on behalf of the opening sequence for the third (and final) trilogy.

Goodness, yes! I have Doctor Who requested via ILL’ing and I’m blogging my reviews and special features throughout the month; so you could say I feel as if I’ve redeemed myself. I am still putting together a few guest features which I am hoping everyone will enjoy as well.

I will be swinging by your blog after Wednesday to check out your plans & see what you’ve posted. By mid-week I’ll be jettisoning through the feeds for #RRSciFiMonth and clicking the links via the main archive for the event. Going to rock, I think! Thanks for your happy note of joy! All the best to you in return, my friend!
